Sorry about that, I really have no idea how to do this really. My editing program, Paint.NET doesn't seem to support transparency much. Either that or I have no idea how. I apologize for this. Illiterate Bilingual 16:16, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
- It's cool. I use Paint.net too. What you need to do is select around the object (in your case, the cores) and just delete the white areas so that it's a gray-checkerboard pattern. That's the transparency. Sven 22:02, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
- I'll try to do this properly when I've practiced it on other things. Thanks for the tip. Illiterate Bilingual 05:47, 26 September 2011 (UTC)

I have some Steam for School accounts that included the Portal 2 - Educational Version, hope this can help you :)

How is the copyright of our uploaded pictures handled?
It appears that Combine OverBitchi ( http://combineoverwiki.net/wiki/Contraption_Cube ) ripped our screenshot and used it for their content. Is this legal? Because I hate that wiki for personal reasons and don't like the thought of me delivering HQ images to them. LambdaCore 21 (talk) 15:31, 5 October 2013 (UTC)
- That.. I don't know. I don't like that idea, either. ~Sven~ (talk) 03:27, 6 October 2013 (UTC)
- Our content is licensed under CC unported license which allows copying as long as there is attribution (i.e. the file page should link to pwiki). Combine Overwiki's license (CC unported sharealike) requires that sites copying their content also need to have a sharealike clause in their license. Pwiki doesn't have such a clause so content from Combine Overwiki cannot be imported here. — Wind 06:57, 6 October 2013 (UTC)
Shall I remove my custom portal gun skin for a video walkthough ?
Sven Computer Sxsw
Dear Sven,
I would like to do the video walkthrough of Portal: Prelude, but I applied my own custom portal gun skin. Shall I remove it, or can I keep it with a note above each video saying This portal gun skin has been customized by the video owner ?
Waiting for an answer,Xorven (talk) 22:30, 15 March 2016 (UTC)
- Hey Xorven, for the sake of consistency, I'd prefer it if you didn't have any custom skins applied during the playthrough. Also (and I promise this isn't a stab at you, given your record-breaking skills), please keep it simple. The point should be to show the player how to complete the puzzle, not how fast it can be done. If you feel like you're up to it, I'll try to get in contact with the other mods and see if we can get your playthrough uploaded onto thePortalWiki's official Youtube Channel when it's done. To be fair though, I'm not sure if they'd prefer a recorded video or demo files. I'll find out. ~Sven~ (talk)
Ok I will try to remove the skin during the playthrough. Of course I know a video playthrough must be simple to focus and understand. I had just the idea to upload this playthrough on a private YouTube playlist, containing each private video. So, should I start to record the playthrough by now, or I am waiting for your decision ? To be honest, I don't know a lot about demos (I just know how to start and stop a demo..)Yours sincerely, Xorven (talk) 23:30, 15 March 2016 (UTC)
- Demos really only need be considered if the player can't record their gameplay in high-enough quality to warrant uploading (like myself); you on the other hand shouldn't have that problem. Go ahead and get started with your playthrough if you want. I really appreciate you volunteering to do this out of the blue. We don't get a lot of activity on the wiki anymore. ~Sven~ (talk)
Yes, I record in 1080p 60fps. I have made the playthrough from chamber 00 to 13. I'll upload them on YouTube tomorrow, and then I send you the playlist link to check it !It is a pleasure to fill this wiki. The Portal series universe is my favourite from really far away, and I especially love Portal: Prelude so I decided to create pages about that. I want to help people about this mod because, in the general opinion, it is hard. Because I find it not hard at all, I would like to share my knowledge about Prelude to newcomers in order to give them pleasure while playing this mod.Xorven (talk) 00:20, 16 March 2016 (UTC)
Sorry for the highly repeated message
It is due to the Gateway error, I am sorry. I removed all the duplicatas.Xorven (talk) 23:17, 15 March 2016 (UTC)
- It's fine. ~Sven~ (talk) 23:20, 15 March 2016 (UTC)
Portal: Prelude playthrough playlist link
Here it is !I could add the next chambers later in this playthrough. It is fine or not then ? :)Xorven (talk) 14:40, 16 March 2016 (UTC)
- I watched the first 5 or so of them yesterday before work. Aside from throwing the stuff around in the intro, it looks good. I need to take a break from the wiki for the rest of the afternoon today to work on some schoolwork but hopefully tonight I can finish watching the rest of your videos. The look good based on what I've seen so far though. But man I wish they could've sprung for some voice actors in that mod..~Sven~ (talk) 16:41, 17 March 2016 (UTC)
About this, the main developper said he didn't have the stuff to act voice lines, how sad.. But in fact, I don't care about this x)Xorven (talk) 21:01, 18 March 2016 (UTC)
Hello again, Makers mark font download.
Sorry for the waiting, my PC was dead during few weeks. I have finished the video walkthrough. Please note in the 20 and the 22 that there are for each a ugly cut, and that's normal. For 20 I cut the loading screen, and for 22 I cut a crashing issue impossible to avoid (really impossible), but I think the walkthrough is correct. Can I put them on the pages now or do you want to transfer them in the Portal Wiki channel before ?

RE: Image Quality/Formatting
Thank you for the Image Notice. I just wan't to clear this out
- 1. Thanks for the note of the crosshair I didn't see it the first time
- 2. The Reason I didn't noclip in the screenshot was the fact the level was moving.
Thank you ~SW50000~ (talk) 8:08 PM July 2016 (Central Time Zone)
- You're welcome. Again, I don't want you to take it as anything negative, I just wanted to point it out to you. Anyway, I think I may have found a work around for the moving issue. Use
host_timescale .1
and noclip
to get into position. Then, use host_timescale .01
to basically freeze time. You'll still be able to rotate the camera but movement will be almost non-existent. Hope that helps! ~Sven~ (talk) 01:41, 25 July 2016 (UTC)

- Huge success. I wanted at least say that I wasn't just avoiding the place. I care about the wiki. It upsets me that I'm not more active but I'll try to be available if anyone needs me. Hopefully I can get some stuff sorted out and get back on top of things here, and maybe even get some projects off the ground over on the TF2 Wiki. ~Sven~ (talk) 15:30, 17 August 2016 (UTC)
Portal Wiki YouTube Account
If I want to make video tutorials, is there a way to get my name added onto the user list for the YouTube account, or can I just upload videos to my own YouTube account? Nalexa-1124 (talk) 20:05, 26 November 2016 (UTC)
- That's something that would have to be discussed with one of the higher ups (anyone under Bureaucrats or Content Admins), since I'm just a moderator myself, but as far as I'm aware, the only people who have access to the official Youtube account are the admins of the wiki. Other users have uploaded videos to their own channels for pages (such as the Portal Prelude walkthrough) because of this. So long as you still follow the same general style and quality of the official channel (taking time with the levels to not rush, showing off key elements, no custom skins/mods, subtitles off, and high quality video textures/models/etc.) you should be fine. If you don't have the high enough quality computer to record everything (like me), recording a .DEM file of your playthrough and sending it to someone who does have the better machine is also a good solution. I hope that answers your question and gives you an idea of what can be done. ~Sven~ (talk) 18:39, 27 November 2016 (UTC)
- I do currently have the set-up to record myself, but that might change in the future. I will just upload the videos myself. Nalexa-1124 (talk) 19:47, 30 November 2016 (UTC)

would it be appropriate to link to the combine overwiki?
in an edit of a page I was going to reference something from halflife, would it be appropriate to link to a article on the combine overwiki (I heard there was some tension between the wikis).or is there a better wiki to link to. Stickyy (talk) 07:38, 29 August 2018 (UTC)
Kenny g best albums. Since the early ‘80s, his combination of unparalleled instrumental chops and indelible melodies has resulted in sales of more than 75 million records worldwide and more than a dozen climbs to the top of Billboard’s contemporary jazz chart. KENNY G The Miracles Holiday & Hits Tour In a recording career that spans almost three decades and 23 albums, Grammy Award-winning saxophonist Kenny G has grafted elements of R&B, pop and Latin to a jazz foundation solidifying his reputation as the premiere artist in contemporary jazz. On this highly-anticipated holiday tour Kenny G will perform some of his greatest hits, including songs from his 1994 smash album Miracles: The Holiday Album, which ranks as one of the most successful holiday albums ever – with over eight million copies sold.
- You can certainly link to the Combine Overwiki from this wiki. There's no problem. In fact, this wiki's Main Page links to the Combine Overwiki in the Valve Wiki Network section at the bottom.
- What isn't OK is to copy-paste content from the Combine Overwiki into Portal Wiki. This isn't due to tension, it's just a text content license issue.
- Hope this helps — Wind 07:55, 29 August 2018 (UTC)

Sven (in Norwegian and Danish, also Svend and also in Norwegian most commonly Svein) is a Scandinavian first name which is also used in the Low Countries and German-speaking countries. The name itself is Old Norse for 'young man' or 'young warrior'. The original spelling in Old Norse was sveinn (whence Eng swain, 'servant boy'). Over the centuries, many northern European rulers have carried the name including Sweyn I of Denmark (Sven Gabelbart). An old legend relates the pagan king Blot-Sven ordered the execution of the Anglo-Saxon monk Saint Eskil.
In medieval Swedish, 'sven' (or 'sven av vapen' (sven of arms)) is a term for squire. The female equivalent, Svenja, though seemingly Dutch and Scandinavian, is not common anywhere outside of German-speaking countries. Sven can also be spelled with W, Swen, but is pronounced as Sven.
The Icelandic and Faroese version of Sven/Svend is Sveinn (Icelandic pronunciation: [ˈsveitn̥]).
